Innovate - Engage - Visualize

Supporting science education and innovation.

My goal is to engage learners through innovative and creative educational tools. From DIY physics lab equipment including mystery circuits and PVC rotational inertia devices to instructional lightboard videos, DIY Physics Ed is the place to learn how to enrich your instruction without breaking the bank.

Lightboarding in Science Education

Lightboarding is the new alternative to Khan Academy style videos. Lightboarding combines straight to the point lectures with a writing on thin air feel. Engagement is one of the top factors in learning outcomes. The light within the glass exits through the Neon Expo markers to make the writing pop amongst the black background. With a little research, the right equipment and some determination, you could construct your own lightboard and begin creating your own instructional lightboarding videos! Virtual Activities

With remote instruction on the rise, I have adapted in-person labs to work remotely. Students have the ability to take and analyze data from a video. Some include the Mystery Circuit lab and Constant Velocity Tube Lab. Click the button below to learn more!

Constructables

Interested in building your own equipment and/or learning tools? This is the place for you. Examples of constructables I have built are mechanics tracks, rotational inertia devices, mystery circuit devices, and a lightboard. Click the button below to learn more!
